I ended it several years ago and it’s gotten worse ever since. It is a huge waste that diverts money from legitimate 2A defenders that really need that money to pay for the law suits and true fighters that do God’s work in the courts fighting for us. I was also sick of the harassing phone calls constantly pandering for money looking for any scare tactic to empty pockets of those truly concerned about gun rights. The NRA has helped create more crisis for that aim than they seem to have solved and jump on the coat tails of the GOA to wave a banner of “look what we did!” to try and steal the glory. I also do NOT care for many of the board members. It has devolved into a racket.

The NRA’s core mission is teaching gun safety, marksmanship and organizing matches. These are worthy pursuits.

the problem is that the NRA has served as Big Gun Control’s useful idiot every time the latest gun control rolls around. Bump stocks? The NRA was in there compromising for us. Extreme Risk Protection Orders? Yep. I’m sure the NRA will fudd out when they ban high capacity magazines, semi-automatic rifles and whatever else Big Gun Control can dream up. Frankly we would be better served if the NRA just stayed out of these discussions.

If you are truly concerned about gun rights, join the NRA but contribute to organizations like SAF, CCRKBA & GOA.

How many times do you have to ask for better, before you go “Hmmm?”.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, I hang your pelt on the side of my barn, and go after your family, household, pets, livestock, goods, etc.

NRA strategy seems to be locked into a National approach operating always on the defense. On a local state by state they remain defensive taking legislation to court after it has occurred. It appears they have no aggressive grassroots organization. This leaves the NRA with a Country full of soldiers that have little if any state strategy organization , but an expensive General in VIrginia. Maybe the NRA should review their tactics. Seems the anti gunners are getting aggressive on a state by state basis and being successful, while all the NRA does is print flyers, blame individual gun owners for their lack of organization and then ask the same for more donations for courts cases no no future information. Avpoor formula for winning.

And they keep losing on the Left Coast in States where residents can put an initiative on the ballot. They aren’t fighting hard enough. Fortunately in my State, South Carolina. only the Legislature can put something on the ballot. And being Republican controlled, Soros and Bloomberg can’t buy their way into any anti-gun laws.

I’ve since educated myself on the history of US gun control and how NRA (Negotiating Rights Away) has their finger prints on all gun control acts. Never again will I donate a penny.

The NRA needs to stop being a Fudd organization and start fighting hard to overturn the NFA. SBRs, SBSs, suppressors all need to be repealed. Machine guns would probably be a fight for another day. I’d also like to see them put a more public fight into recent state level proposals (and recently passed laws) that are introducing magazine capacity limits and “assault weapon” bans.

The NRA just seems really disconnected and aloof at the moment. Putting Duane and Colion out there isn’t going to stop the grassroots damage being done by the pro-2A meme community and others who are pointing out on social media that the NRA is sitting on their ass while the leftists and statists prepare for an onslaught of new gun control restrictions.

I paid for a $500 discounted Life Membership several years ago and I did that for the free firearm insurance and that a yearly membership for life would have been too much based on me living at least another 20 years.
Which doesn’t mean I like or agree with what the NRA did to us on bump stocks.
I hope the lawsuits prevail against the ATF as that language calling a bump stock a machine gun is downright stupid.
Here’s a guy with NO bump stock and does a 100 round drum magazine dump in just over 6 seconds!
Got to 30 seconds in the video.

First they don’t support the HUGE black Rifle Community and Machine Guns and Suppressors hence the reason we have the illegal NFA! The Founders wanted the people to be better armed than the Government if u read history and know the facts they were in 1776! Without Warships and Cannons and Kentucky rifle snipers the Militia would of lost against the British.

The NRA has been behind more anti-gun bills than any organization and is working against gun owners! Whether it was illegal 1968,4473’s,NICS,1986,Import-ban, bump-stocks and gun confiscation Red Flag Laws! Why support a organization that don’t fight for #2a Human Civil Rights endowed from our Creator!
