Ancient Oak Gun Club’s “Harvest Moon Classic” drew 242 shooters, some from as far away as England an Venezuela. World Champion sporting clay shooter Bill McGuire, who is sponsored by the club, set a challenging course. McGuire and others vied for a $21,000 Polaris ATV Thursday, at the start of the four-day tournament. All they needed to do was shoot a perfect score – 100 straight. McGuire shot 99, and joked to a friend that he left a “$21,000 bird laying out there.” The Polaris was the “single biggest purse for one event outside of Dubai,” said club manager Wayne Evans.
