Photo courtesy of WCTI An elderly homeowner shoots a bold daylight would-be burglar in the Harlowe area according to WCTI. Craven County Sheriff’s Captain, Joe Heckman, told us a 31-year-old male came up to the house on Pinecliff Road in Harlowe. He said, that man tried to engage in a conversation with the 71-year-old male homeowner. According to Heckman, the homeowner went back inside, and when the homeowner came back outside the younger male was still there. Heckman said a fight then happened. “The victim pulled out a gun, the 71-year-old pulled out a gun and shot the 31-year-old attacker,” said Heckman.
