Sarasota County Parks officials took action after last week’s column, which revealed misconduct by range safety officers on the rifle/pistol ranges at Knight’s Trail Park.
One RSO is no longer working there. He and his colleagues were shooting steel plates with their friends, rather than monitoring range safety as the taxpayers pay them to do. As a result, the range was completely unsupervised.
