Quentin Defense has just introduced a new 18″ Fluted 5.56 Match Grade Barrel. The new barrel has a Black Nitride finish also known as QPQ, Melonite, etc. which is a surface treatment that actually changes the surface of the metal making it extremely durable and resistant to corrosion. Many companies are starting to use it on barrels because it coats the inside and out of the barrel as its a bath in molten salt.
