Although the grandfather was shot in this incident his heroic actions were worthy of a medal. He was airlifted to a local hospital in serious condition, but his actions may have saved the lives of his wife and granddaughter. A man came to the 67-year-old’s door saying he was having car troubles. The stranger convinced the NC grandfather to open his door and that’s when 3 men armed with guns came rushing in.
