Despite many discrepancies, it appears that the Nevada Secretary of State, has allowed a “universal background check” initiative to go forward according to a grassroots Nevada gun group. They’re citing numerous instances where Nevada state petition laws have been violated.
Citing a November 25 letter the group had sent to Miller informing him of the violations, Nevadans for State Gun Rights President Don Turner noted the secretary had not responded, appearing to have ignored the information altogether. Rather than acting on the violations, Deputy Secretary of Elections Scott F. Gilles “declared sufficiency of signatures for the initiative,” Turner wrote. …read more
