The recent tragic shooting in Hayden, ID brought to the fore the need to discuss rules and practices for off-body carry. If you have not heard, a toddler got into his mother’s purse and fired her concealed handgun, killing her.
This event, as horrible as it was, was 100 percent avoidable. The first rule for off-body carry (that is carrying a gun in a purse, satchel, briefcase, or any other item not attached to your body) is to secure that firearm inside.
