In his Sunday column, Gerald Ensley, columnist at the Tallahassee Democrat, called for an outright ban on guns. I have purposefully not supplied a link. In his column, which was titled “Stop the insanity: Ban guns,” Mr. Ensley refers to gun owners as “gun freaks.” He advocates repealing or amending the Second Amendment, which he said is misinterpreted, and in no way guarantees an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. Sure. He admits that if guns are outlawed, only criminals will have guns, but adds, “That’s a chance worth taking. Because if we ban guns, eventually the tide will turn.”
