“A man with experience is not at the mercy of a man with an opinion.” Dave Ramsey said this the other day on his radio show, and I’ve been stewing on it since. He was referring to financial stuff, but this idea holds true for the shooting community too. There’s a lot of lore floating around the web from folks just repeating things they’ve been told without experiencing the things they’re repeating. I can’t say that I’ve never fallen into that trap, but it’s something that I’ve come to recognize as extremely important to me.
