Residents of Nevada Iowa overwhelmed the city with well over 100+ angry phone calls when they found out the city was planning on making a gun ban. The controversy started Monday when a post appeared on the Iowa Gun Owners Facebook page about the proposed ban. The post read, “Breaking News: Nevada, Iowa is trying to strip you of your right of self-defense in virtually the entire city!!” “It was kind of a surprise come Monday when I opened up the emails,” said Lynn Lathrop, the mayor of Nevada.
