Rep. Greg Steube’s Campus Carry (HB-4005) passed the House Criminal Justice Committee Tuesday with an 8-4 vote. The bill has become the subject of many exaggerations and distortions. Here’s a link to the testimony before the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee. I suggest that anyone who’s interested in the legislation should watch the testimony. Much has been made of allowing college-age adults to carry a concealed Dr. Gary Kleck, Professor of Criminology at Florida State University firearm. It’s a specious argument. When I was 18, I was carrying a select-fire M-16A1, as were thousands of young soldiers. I’m not the only one who feels this way.
