Initial acts of violence after the St. Louis County grand jury verdict was announced were met with a significant police presence. Video of the scene showed attacks on St. Louis county police cars were met with swift action by police including beanbags and multiple tear gas vollies and arrests. CNN is reporting sounds of gunshots (which may have been those beanbags), sporadic looting and at least one storefront on fire. So far, despite the significant law enforcement presence and a forceful response, the violence appears to be escalating with multiple reports of small arms fire.
