County Tax Collector George Albright seeks to make it easier for people to obtain concealed weapons permits.

Albright recently asked the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for permission to join a new program that delegates the state’s authority to process such permits to county governments.

Now, applicants for concealed-carry permits have to apply either in person or via mail to one of the state’s eight regional outlets.
