Fayetteville police said they will be showing a film aimed at curbing gun violence to Cumberland County students this year.

The department’s Operation Ceasefire program will be showing the film “Decision Points” to students in the seventh and ninth grades during health classes.

The film is a part of a joint curriculum called Educating Kids about Gun Violence between the department and school system. The program is a research-based, youth gun violence education and prevention program, the department said.

The program hopes to teach kids about the legal, medical and emotional consequences involved with gun violence.
