An Albion resident thwarted a home invasion Wednesday night by shooting the would-be intruder in the leg, police said. The Albion Police Department said in a statement that officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Center Street at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, on a report of shots fired. Soon after, they received information that a homeowner had called to report shooting at an intruder who was attempting to break into the home, the statement said.
