More police killed in accidents than assaults, FBI report finds

(Graphic: FBI) The Federal Bureau of Investigation released a report Monday on law enforcement officers killed and assaulted in the line of duty last year. While nearly 50,000 law enforcement officials were assaulted in 2013, only 76 were killed, most of which were the result of accidents. The report breaks down the details of felonious deaths, accidental deaths and the overwhelming number of assaults that occurred.
