TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – Kansas officials are holding a public hearing this week on proposed signs to be placed on buildings where firearms are prohibited.

A state law that took effect July 1 legalized the open carry of guns across the state. But building owners may ban concealed firearms, openly carried guns or both from their premises if they post signs.
