I observed a firearms class the other day and was slightly amused when the instructor mentioned that the men in her class NEVER read the safety and instruction manual for their handguns. I’m not fond of absolute words like “never” (they tend not to be completely believable), but not wanting to be lumped into a category with the “unschooled,” I immediately went home and read the manual for my Springfield Armory XD-S. And I was pleasantly surprised. It was well written and informative, and, lo and behold, it taught me a few things about my concealed carry firearm. (GASP!)
