Photo courtesy Tim Britt Thunder By the Bay’s first annual sporting clay tournament was wicked fun, even with a biting wind and chilly temps. The shoot benefited Suncoast Charities for Children, and raised thousands of dollars. Turnout was good, as was the food, shooting and camaraderie. I’ve said it before, but sporting clay shooters are the friendliest bunch of folks I’ve ever encountered. Don Webster, manager of the Sarasota Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clay club at Knight’s Trail Park, has perfected hosting large charity events. Each station had ammo, a club gun and a friendly expert puller. It was a great day!
