I recently shot the south course at Ancient Oak Gun Club along with some friends. We went to see the improvements that Bill McGuire, the club’s consultant and pro-shooter, had added — improvements that everyone at the club is talking about. Bill, a two-time World Sporting Clay Champion, has taken a great course and made it even better. There are new berms and several towers, both for the traps and the shooters, as well as other more-subtle additions. They have changed the look and the feel of the course. We were fortunate to have a guest join our foursome — Bill’s girlfriend Yvette.
