One of the things that used to really bug me was when some arrogant self-defense “expert” would look at my inexpensive handgun and say, “What is your life worth?” I eventually came up with the following response: My life is worth every penny I can afford and right now this is it. This type of comment would typically come from someone flashing the latest, “custom, tactical 1911 with the lowered ejection port, beveled magazine well, low-profile, night sights with the kung-fu grip.”
